Engineering Department Organized Two (2) Seminars on 5S and Heat Stress

The Engineering Department (ED) in coordination with the College Risk, Health and Safety (CRHS) Committee organized two seminars on Integrating safety in the workplace through 5S principles and Heat Stress: Awareness and First Aid Response.

The first seminar was held last 01 June 2017 and conducted by Mr. Mike Medina, CRHS Coordinator. The focus of the seminar is to improve the working environment in the college through proper housekeeping and disposal. Through the application of the 5S principles, it is expected that the workplace will be more organized, cleaner and safer to work.

The second seminar held last 08 June 2017, and delivered by Dr. Imran Khan, HoD of the Business Department. This initiative is an awareness campaign on heat stress and how to administer a first aid on a victim. Participants were presented with both theoretical and practical aspects to effectively deal with heat stress.

In summary, both seminars were informative and practically useful in everyday life not only within the college premises. Special credits are given to speakers, Mr. Samir Al Azri (HoD-ED), Mr. Ashraf Pasha (HoS-MIE), Ms Kholud Denaqui (HoS-CAE), RHS committee members and all who participated for making the event a success.
