IT Department - Awarding of Certificates - Internet of Things (IoT) Training for First Year Diploma Students

The IT Department – Networking Specialization Section had launched the first ever Internet of Things (IoT ) special class training on May 8, 2017 simultaneously with the start of Summer Semester.  The training went for 6 consecutive weeks and was completed last 14 June 2017, the same day the awarding of certificate of completion took place. The awarding was attended by the College Dean, Dr. Khalid Abdulaziz  Ambusaidi, ADAF, Dr. Khalid Al Abri, The HoD of IT Dept., Dr. Huda Al Shuaily and the HoS- Multimedia, Mr. Talib Al Mahrouqi.

The IoT special training class was attended by nine (9) First Year Diploma students who enthusiastically showed interest and potential in exploring new innovations in the current technology trend Internet of Things. The students were given training on the basic fundamentals of IoT, basic electronics, hardware/circuit prototyping, Java Script programming, Arduino Board UNO microcontroller functionalities and how the IT-enabled devices can be integrated in an IoT-enabled environment. The students who completed the training also underwent a self-paced, online course Introduction to IoT in CISCO Networking Academy.

The facilitators and trainers of the special class sessions are the indefatigable ASC/ITC Instructors of HCT-CISCO Networking Academy headed by Mr. Leopoldo Maglalang Jr., Mrs. Praba P. and Mr. Russell L. Diona.
