The Information Technology Department of HCT has embarked on three (3) specializations with partnership from accredited and well - known industries worldwide.
Oracle
The Oracle Academy is one of the most comprehensive academic offerings in the IT industry, providing software, hosted software, technology and business curriculum, and certification resources to teachers in higher education institutions. The program delivers hands-on technical experience to practice students for both IT and business careers, and provides faculty with professional development resources to further their own careers. The Oracle Academy offers three different learning Levels, the most suitable one for our department is Advanced Computer Science and Business.
ICDL
ICDL stands for International Computer Driving License. It is an international accreditation of computer skills and competencies. ICDL is a computer literacy project that was initiated to enhance the level of Information Technology and increase the level of proficiency in using personal computers and common computer applications. It was founded in Finland in 1994.It was launched in Europe at 1996 and was known as ECDL. In 1999, it was applied outside Europe as ICDL. ECDL and ICDL have similar syllabus, testing and certification. Six million ECDL/ICDL candidates globally.
CISCO
Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, believes the Internet is changing the way people work, live, play, and learn. In the education space, Cisco's vision is to enable the creation of e-learning environments that transform the way people learn. One example is the Cisco Networking Academy Program.
The Cisco Networking Academy Program was developed to provide a quality educational program for individuals who are interested in learning more about career opportunities in the information technology career fields.
It is a comprehensive e-learning program that provides students of aged 16 to 60 with the Internet technology skills essential in a global economy. The Networking Academy program delivers web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certifications.
