The Ministry of Manpower approved the offering of Environmental Science Program as a new specialization in the Department of Applied Sciences of Higher College of Technology in 2003 as evidenced by the inclusion of the name of the program in the College By-Laws (Appendix 1 and Appendix 3) and other documents of the College and the Department of Applied Sciences. The desire of the government to harmonize the socio-economic development and the preservation of the biodiversity, in particular and the environment, in general, justifies the demand for this specialization.
