School Laboratory Technician Program is one of the courses that the Department of Applied Sciences is offering. The two-year course aims to produce competent School Laboratory Technicians who will work in the different schools of the Sultanate of Oman. The Department of Applied Sciences is aware of the changing needs of Oman as far as trained scientific manpower is concerned, that is why it has increased its intake and periodically improved the academic and technical training aspects of the Laboratory School Technician Program. Objectives of the Program

The objectives of the program are to:
1. train students to become School Laboratory technicians
2. offer a new program of study which may lead to a technical degree
3. enhance the knowledge of the students to enable them to proceed to higher education, if they desire so
4. train candidates from other institutions as and when required
5. benchmark and foster strong relations with the local industries and government departments in order to produce manpower that is suitable to their requirement
