Knowledge sharing sessions conducted by the Pharmacy Department

The HCT Management and Academic Departments including Pharmacy Department under the leadership of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs conducted a series of talks and workshops on 21st April, 2019 for all staff for the A.Y. 2018 – 2019. The Pharmacy Department conducted three series of talk’s session in collaboration with Oman Pharmaceutical Society.

The first session was delivered by Mrs. Iman Albalushi (Lecturer in Pharmacology) on Handling of Medicine at Home, from 10 am to 11 am at Pharmacy Multimedia Lab (PHM). The session provided the knowledge of safe use of medicine in terms of Validity Period, Storage and Safe Disposal of Medicines. The second session was delivered by Dr.Sulaiman Mohidean (Lecturer in Pharmacognosy) on Herbal Drugs, from 11 am to 12 pm at PH1. The session presented information about the common medicinal herbs/plants and common herbal medications. The third session was delivered by four external speakers, Ph. Khalfan Almazroui, Ph. Bushra Alqasmi, Ph. Soud Alghafri and Ph. Mahmood Al-Ajmi (members of Oman Pharmaceutical Society) on What you must know from your Pharmacist? , from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Pharmacy Multimedia Lab (PHM). It was an interactive lecture with a live show style illustrating about the nature of the pharmacists and the importance of their instructions to patients about medicine. The speakers also focused on the rational use of antibiotics and the right selection of general health pills and beauty creams.

The workshops was organised by Mrs. Iman Albalushi, an appreciation certificates were given for external speakers by Mrs. Iman Albalushi (Staff Development Coordinator in Pharmacy Department). As well an appreciation certificates were given for Dr.Sulaiman Mohidean and Mrs. Iman Albalushi by Dr.Mohammed Talat Al Tarawneh (Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs) on 5/16/2019.

Pharmacy Department wishes to extend their gratitude to participated members from Oman Pharmaceutical Society for Pharmacy Department event. As well, pharmacy department wishes to extend their gratitude to the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and staff development team for providing all the support required for the smooth and successful completion of the workshops.
