College RHS committee kicked off the month of October with two health-centric campus activities and participation in the OCA marathon

Two campus activities focusing on health awareness were recently held in the college campus.

The first activity, conducted last 10 October was in partnership with Al-Raffah Hospital, Muscat. Al-Raffah Hospital ran a heart and diabetes forum facilitated by Dr. Shaju Padma and Dr. Dileep Abdul Khadar. Running parallel with the forum was a free medical health camp for staff and students supervised by Aster Volunteers, the CSR arm of Al-Raffah Hospital.

In partnership with Oman Cancer Association to focus on breast cancer awareness, a forum and free mammogram checkup was conducted last 27 October. The talk was given by Ms. Faiqa Alsinawi, Secretary-General of Oman Cancer Association.

A number of staff and students also took part in the 16th annual Oman Cancer Association walkathon held last 29 October in the Qurum Park from 04:00 pm until 06:00 pm. The walkathon promotes increased awareness about breast cancer and bring to the public services provided by the organization.

The activities were initiated and organized by the college risk, health and safety (RHS) committee chaired by Mr. Mazin Mohammed Nasser Al-Saadi.
