Two re-trainings were conducted for first aid responders and warden groups from the Business Studies Department in BS056 and APS-PH parking lot respectively. The re-trainings were done last 28 March 2019. These activities were done to gauge and improve the needed skills as a first aid responder and warden, which will be useful during an emergency situation.
During the re-training for first aid responders, the concepts of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED) and cases observed in the College such as epileptic convulsions and nose bleeds were discussed. Afterwards, there was an individual hands-on practice on CPR with AED for all first aid responders.
The latter part of the re-training saw the warden group being re-oriented with the use of fire extinguishers. All wardens individually demonstrated the proper handling of a fire extinguisher.
The re-training was organized through the Business Studies RHS committee headed by Ms. Wathiqa Bait Said, and provided by Mr. Mike Medina, RHS Officer.
