HE Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology & Applied Sciences visited the university branch in Muscat and listened to university students

As part of the inspection visits to the various UTAS branches and colleges, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Hamad Al-Rubaie has paid a visit on Sunday morning (Nov. 7th/2021) to the university branch in Muscat where he has been briefed on the progress and development of work towards ensuring the facilitation the integration process between the Technical and Applied Education sectors.

Following are the main highlights of HE’s visit:

  • Meeting with members of the University Council in Muscat and members of the academic and administrative body.
  • Examination of the training workshops as well as workshops of the civil, architectural, electrical, chemical and mechanical engineering departments.
  • Learning about the latest technologies used in the college and examining computer laboratories, student project laboratories, the library, departments and academic centers.
  • Accessing research projects funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation within the research programs the college is working on.
  • Examining student projects where His Excellency valued the importance of cooperation towards linking student projects with the industrial sector and local community institutions.
  • Meeting with members of the Student Advisory Council, where he reviewed ideas and opinions that contribute to the development of the work system at the university branch and lead to the advancement of the educational process. The university administration emphasized its interest in these visions and ideas for their positive impact on students, and their role in improving the quality of education and promoting innovation at the university.
