Dr. Pankaj Sah of Applied Sciences Department delivered the keynote speech in the First National Symposium on the Emerging Trends in Engineering and Management organized by WCAS

Dr. Pankaj Sah delivering the keynote lecture entitled “How to turn student’s projects into quality research papers?”

Integrating research skills into the undergraduate curricula is the need of the hour, as every job in the present scenario requires some research to be undertaken by individuals while performing their official duties. The professionals pursuing careers in engineering, technology, sciences and management should have a fair amount of exposure to the presentation techniques related to the analysis of their research results. 

Dr. Pankaj Sah, a lecturer working in the Applied Biology Section of Department of Applied Sciences was invited as a keynote speaker in the “First National Symposium on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Management (NSETEM-2017)” organized by the Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) on 13th November, 2017under the patronage of H.E Indra Mani Pandey, India’s Ambassador to Oman, Professor S. L. Gupta, Dean and Chairperson of the symposium, WCAS and Mr. Rafael Parambil, CEO, SME Development. The objective of the symposium was to provide a platform to the students of higher education institutes and universities for presenting their research output as oral and poster presentations.

The chief guest, H.E Indra Mani Pandey, India’s Ambassador to Oman released the WCAS annual report for the AY 2016-17 along with the Volume 2, Issue 2 of the International Journal of Applied Sciences and Management in the inaugural ceremony of this symposium. Along with Dr. Pankaj the other notable keynote speakers at this symposium are Dr. Salah Al Majeed, Head of Engineering from Military Technical College, Dr. Lamya Adnan Al Haj from College of Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University and Dr. Sujeet Sharma from Sultan Qaboos University.

Dr. Pankaj Sah expressed his most sincere and deepest gratitude to the Dean of HCT, Dr. Khalid Abdulaziz Ambusaidi, and the Head of the Applied Sciences Department, Dr. Mohammed Ali Oueslati and Head of Applied Biology Section, Dr. Afraa Said Al Alawi for their continuous support, facilities and encouragement.

This activity was encouraged by Department of Applied Sciences in order to meet the partial requirements of Goal-6 of the strategic plan: Support staff participation in research oriented events, such as conferences and workshops.
