Message from the APS - HSE Coordinator

Welcome to the Health, Safety, and Environment Committee (HSEC) pages of the Applied Sciences Department’s website. HSEC is proud to bring you relevant information about how to learn and work safely in the Department premises especially in its laboratories. We believe the true gauge of an effective HSE program is that our students and fellow staff return home in the same condition in which they arrive in the HCT campus. To that end, we provide in this website guidance and recommendations on how the Department can maintain a safe and healthful learning and working environment.

Safety Excellence is one of the core values of the Applied Science Department. It is the strategy and drive behind our HSE initiatives. At the Department, Safety Excellence is interwoven into our daily operations to reduce or eliminate incidents.

We also document in this website our commitment to protection of the environment. We will pursue this commitment by engaging in activities leading to sustainable resource utilization, use of safer chemicals and energy-efficient technologies, and promoting awareness of environmental issues.
