Conducting research is a routine process in a reputed academic institution, whereas validating the research of other organizations and forums by the individuals of an academic institution adds value to the reputation of an academic institution. Understanding this process involved in converting the department into a Research Centre, the administrators and planners at the department of applied science are motivating and supporting the staff to utilize each and every opportunity they get, either in validating the research of other research organizations or by offering themselves as thesis evaluators or chairs of national and international conferences or referees for major and minor research projects.
Dr. Yousif Al- Sewaidi, a senior faculty member of Applied Biology Section of Department of Applied Sciences chaired the first international conference for sustainable development and five other sessions in the International Scientific Forum at the Langkawi Island in Malaysia from 19-23, November, 2017. International Scientific Forum (ISF) is a scientific gathering with a series of scientific conferences, courses, and workshops that combined many scientific activities happening simultaneously at one place, allowing the participants to have the maximum benefit from all these events simultaneously. ISF also aims at providing great opportunities for researchers, scientists and experts from all over the world to interact with each other and exchange new developments face to face for establishing mutually beneficial research relationships.
Dr. Yousif Al- Sewaidi has the honor of presenting the Gold medal and other awards to deserving researchers for their research contributions.
Dr Yousif had established a mutually beneficial constructive partnership with International Scientific Forum (ISF) with a vision to improve the research awareness of all the teaching and technical staff of the Applied Sciences Department in particular and all the research fraternity of HCT in general, on the collaborative and participatory research. Dr Yousif expressed his profound thanks to Dr Mohammed Ali Oueslati, Head of the Department of Applied Sciences and Dr Afraa Said Al-Adawi, HoS of Applied Biology section for their help, encouragement and support.
This activity was encouraged by the department of applied sciences in order to meet the partial requirements of Goal-7 of the strategic plan “We will foster mutually beneficial constructive partnership with various public and private sector organizations, professional bodies, and local and international communities that benefit the community at large” as Dr. Yousif was invited to give his talk at the event of an inter-national professional body.
