Students of the Department of Applied Sciences obtained a Second Runner up Position among 15 Teams across Arab Countries in the Inter-Collegiate Environmental Public Speaking Competition

Applied Sciences Department of HCT achieved another landmark, when a self-motivated lecturer, Ms. Tahra Al Rashdi and highly determined students Ms. Sabra Mohammed Al-Jabri,  Ms. Nuwair Saif Al-Julandani, Ms. Zainab Mohammed Al-Mahrouqi and Mr. Fahad Mubarak Al-Jabri formed into a team named “Orka” won the “2nd Runner-Up (Third Position)” among the 15 teams participated from different Arab countries for a theme entitled “Alternative Energy Resources: A viable option?” in the 16th annual Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition (ICEPSC) at Dubai Women’s College, United Arab Emirates on November 22-23, 2016. This competition was organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), a professional working group devoted to protect the environment through the means of education, action programs and community involvement. The platform created an invaluable opportunity to discuss various aspects, and share diverse opinions, ideas and strategies relating to environment issues.

The Department of Applied Sciences congratulates the team and the supervisor Ms. Tahra for this achievement and extend thanks to Ms. Fahima for her continuous support and motivation.
