Civil Engineering

Civil engineering graduates will demonstrate knowledge of contemporary issues, including the need for a diverse workforce, and an understanding of the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context. Professional and ethical responsibility will guide their engineering career. Graduates will demonstrate a strong ability to apply analytical tools (mathematical and computational), basic sciences, and engineering sciences in engineering practice. They will also demonstrate a strong ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints.

Civil engineering graduates will be active professionally and engage in life-long learning. A large percentage will become licensed professional civil engineers. Graduates will have the ability to obtain professional licensure, and will recognize the need for engaging in life-long learning.
