In coordination with HCT-Entrepreneurship Cell, National Bank of Oman (NBO) hosted the presentation stage for four shortlisted teams in the second edition of the Innovation in SME Award at the Higher College of Technology, on April 26. A group of students from the Higher College of Technology were named the winners of the second edition of National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) Innovation in SME Award, taking home a prize of RO 10,000 and receiving a major boost in turning their business idea into reality.

Following a four-month-long assessment process, during which entrants developed and refined their concepts, four finalists were asked to present their ideas to a distinguished panel of experts in front of an audience of students .The panel included Dr Ahmed Al Ghassani, Dean of College of Banking and Financial Studies; Khalifa Al Amri, Managing Director of Al Awkiya Trading; and Adil Al Saleh, Head of SME at NBO.

Following careful consideration, ‘Let’s Go’ Company, whose concept was an all-in-one and innovative camping chair with unique features, was chosen as the winner.

They will now receive RO 10,000, as well as support from NBO’s Academy of Excellence and a team of dedicated mentors from the bank, to take their innovative business idea to the next stage of development.
