Smartphone Applications

The Educational Technology Center organized a seminar in Smartphone Applications on April 1, 2021 through online utilizing MS Teams platform from 9:00am to 10:00am. The objective of the seminar is to spread awareness about the advantages of smartphone applications among the UTAS students and staff.

The guest speaker was Dr. Nasser Al Zeidi, he is the Director at Center for Information Systems at Sultan Qaboos University since 2014. He has over 20 years teaching experience in the field of IT. He filled in as an Academic Advisor to undergraduates students as well as with the students in graduate studies. Also, he initiated and developed the contents of a number of new postgraduate and undergraduate level courses.

He had received various number of recognition, attendance and completion certificates of different types of events. He was awarded as the Best Researcher in SQU last 2018. He completed his Doctorate Certificate in Computer Science at University of Glasgow in UK. What’s more, took his Graduate Degree on the same field at Case Western Reserve University in USA.

The guest speaker discussed his topic about Smartphone Applications. He stated that his discussion will mainly focused on how does mobile app industry affects the everyday economy and society. Participants was actively listening to his discussion as he presented the historical overview of mobile apps development. Apart from this, he also discussed the mobile apps economy. With the aid of his presentation, Dr. Nasser clearly identified the development environments of mobile apps that includes the native development and cross-platform development. Also, he discussed the things you have to do before start developing.​

This is seminar is beneficial to the Mobile Apps Developer and to the individual who are leading exploration identified with Smartphone Applications as the speaker highlighted the types of platform that you can use in developing smartphone applications.
