The Department of Applied Sciences through Science Club is promoting the active participation of the students in the various community engagement activities.   

• School Visits: to encourage the new generations to be more innovative and creative in science field, science club students visited three different schools in the AY 2015-2016 namely: Zubida Um Al Ameen High School (January 2016), Al Radhwan Primary School (February 2016) and  Darsit Secondary School (March 2016). The science club students demonstrated different scientific experiments and briefly explained the different specialization offered in Applied Sciences Department in the Higher College of Technology. 

• Participation in Oman Environment Day, under the theme  ' Our Environment Our Country so Preserve it' organized by Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) in the Avenues Mall, Muscat (7 -10 February 2016).
• Participation in the World Civil Defence Open Day organized by the Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) in the Higher College of Technology- Multipurpose Hall (14th March 2016).
