The ETC Staff Training and Development organized a training entitled, “ Fundamentals of Project Management”, last Thursday, November 9, 2017 with the aim to support the continuous quality enhancement not only the technical skills but the knowledge as well, of all ETC Staff for their effective delivery. With Mrs. Rehana Al-Ameer’s initiative, she coordinated with Dr. Huda Al Shuaily, Head of Information Technology to provide a resource speaker on the said topic. Participants were taught the use of Microsoft Project. The said training was very interactive and informative.
Some of the attendees commented right after the training as follows:
1. Ms. Ameera Al Busaidi, one of the attendees commented that, “ the training is really good as it gives as new knowledge which is helpful in organizing the tasks given to us but if it is possible to have a series of workshop so we can learn more”.
2. Mr. Marlon Ferrer, another participants says that, “ the resource speaker is knowledgeable enough as he discussed the topic which is easily followed by the participants, please organize another session of this topic which is more advance as it is very interesting.”
3. “The training is an eye opener and timely needed due to the fact that it can help us to integrate and monitor our daily workload, tasks and project management style properly,” says Mr. Orlando P. Meneses Jr.
The resource speaker of the said training is Dr. Binod Kumar, a PhD holder in Computer Science major in IT Computer Security. He is currently working in Higher College of Technology as an IT Lecturer. He used to work as Head of Section and as an Asst. Professor in the field of IT in different colleges in other countries such as Ethiopia and India before he joined the IT Department in HCT I September 2011. He has a total of twenty years teaching experience in the field of IT. He also published numerous research papers internationally. Also, he is a co-author of two books entitled, “ An Introduction to Information Technology” and “ An Introduction to Unix System”, respectively and it was published in India.
