HCT Students Achievements in Competitions

In continuation with entrepreneurial culture HCT is the pioneer in the remarkable achievements for the last five years, the College has won many national and international awards. Including one of the most innovative achievements.

The college continued its remarkable achievements in Injaz Oman program Competition by achieving the best company of the year , the best innovative product , the best marketing and the best value added company in four consecutive years from 2012 to 2016 namely Kashkool, Jothor, Direction, Technophil, Unico and Bellora company . The qualified teams continued to achieve high performance at the regional level of the Arab countries and Pakistan and represent the Sultanate in Arab countries with the award of the best innovative product in 2014 and the Acess Award for readiness to enter the world markets in 2016. The College also had the share of winning the Microsoft Imagine Competition and representing the Sultanate in international countries. In terms of innovation under the sponsorship of National Bank of Oman, Let's Go Company won the award. Jothor Company also won the Best Green Idea Award by Omantel. In 2017 two teams from the Higher College of Technology are qualified to move to the second phase of the Innovation Award sponsored by Oman Chamber of commerce and Industry which will be held in August. Moreover, HCT students take the lead in Riyada Award (best Business Idea) in 2014 and 2015.

Some of the recent innovations emerged in 2017 via student projects as scientific innovations are “hand glove for the blind", "smart window" and "program application for charity". Copyright rights have been registered for some of the student projects because of its importance to ensure intellectual property. Number of these projects have also presented in one of the popular media channel called Al-Jazeera.
