The Quality Management System (QMS) at the Higher College of Technology was put in place since its inception in 1984. It encompasses all areas of College operations aiming to overseeing the quality assurance of its processes and activities.

At the very beginning, a core committee responsible for managing quality (known as the Quality Assurance Executive Committee) was established. Through the efforts of the dedicated staff members of this committee and the succeeding QA committees and sub-committees, the College now has a strong foundation rooted in quality assurance and improvement. Driven by its commitment to quality education, and the national agenda for quality assurance and enhancement in higher education, the Higher College of Technology further enhanced the QMS by establishing a Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) in 2014. This Unit works closely with the other Units (Departments and Centers) in the College, aiming to achieve operative excellence through continuous improvement and quality enhancement.

Quality assurance is an integral part of everyone's day-to-day life. We are all responsible for ensuring whatever we do is done effectively, efficiently, and adds value to the college and its community. As the College is going through the academic accreditation process, your active participation and involvement in college operations will go a long way in assisting the College in achieving this goal. Achieving academic accreditation will greatly magnify the recognition of the quality of our programs, staff and students.
