Lights go dark in HCT for Earth Hour 2018

29 March 2018

In solidarity with the world and the rest of Oman, the Higher College of Technology went dark to celebrate Earth Hour last Saturday, 24 March 2018 from 8:30 – 9:30.  Through this one-hour participation, the College shows its environment social responsibility in reducing its own carbon footprint.

This scene was repeated across the globe, according to each region’s time zone.  The annual symbolic activity is a global call for international unity on the importance of addressing and highlighting the effects of climate change.  The College’s participation hopefully will serve as a model for staff and students to be more environmentally-conscious and proactive with their own general environmental and carbon footprints.

Participation in this significant event was done in coordination with the Administration and the college RHS Committee chaired by Dr. Khalid Al-Abri.
