An orientation and student appreciation program for first aid and warden responders conducted

04 February 2020

To formally recognize the different department emergency evacuation and first aid responder groups, the college RHS Committee organized a short orientation program last 30 January 2020 at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH) of the Education Resources Center.

The first part of the program distributed certificates of appreciation to student wardens and first aid responders who have been active in the last two academic years. The second part presented a general background on the basic duties of an emergency evacuation warden and first aid responder and the overall impacts of a quick and appropriate action. The program also emphasized the need for practice sets in each department to keep all responders updated with their skills.

Mr. Nasser Ahmed Al-Kharusi, a former student, delivered a short talk on his experiences of being part of the ELC health and safety club, and how his training and certifications became an advantage in securing a job after HCT. Mr. Mazin Al-Saadi, chair of the college RHS committee provided a brief inspirational talk at the start of the program with Mr. Mike Medina, RHS officer, presenting the orientation.
